Rick Barajas

Rick Barajas, a proud native of Houston, is a product of the Houston Independent School District (HISD). He has been a resident of Lindale Park for over two decades, contributing to the community he calls home.

Rick’s academic journey led him to the University of Houston-Downtown, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. He furthered his education at Sam Houston State University, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security.

His professional life was marked by a distinguished 33-year career with the Houston Police Department. Rick spent over a decade patrolling the near northside of Houston, culminating his service as a detective in several divisions within HPD. His dedication to public safety didn’t end with his retirement. Rick transitioned into a role as a public safety consultant with T-Mobile, ensuring first responders have the most efficient and reliable network to protect the communities they serve.

Beyond his professional commitments, Rick has been active in causes that support fallen police officers, their families, and our military. His commitment to service extends beyond his career, reflecting his deep-rooted values.

On a personal level, Rick is a family man, married to Lisa, and blessed with three children and five grandchildren. In his leisure time, he enjoys good BBQ, golf, and playing competitive fastpitch softball.
